MBB - Microbiome Body Balancing
All disease begins in the gut- Hippocrates."
This is a three session protocol designed to minimize the expression and increase the resolution of symptoms related to digestive imbalances, skin irritations, asthma, and/or other issues with presenting symptoms. Often toxicity from the body can get caught in the bowels and it hinders elimination of the bowel leading to greater toxicity.
As researchers learn more about the microbes that keep us healthy, we are coming to understand how subtle imbalances in our microbial populations can also cause disease, and how restoring the balance may lead to restored health.
The combination of a North American diet, overuse of antibiotics, use of anti-bacterial products, emotional stress and lack of regular fermented foods in our diets has created a perfect storm for imbalance in the gut Microbiome.
What exactly is a Microbiome?
Only 10% of the cells in our body are human! Research has determined that we share our life with around 100 trillion organisms which comprise something called our Microbiome. For every one of our cells, there are 10 microbial cells living on or inside our body, helping us to perform life-sustaining functions that we couldn’t perform without their help.
How does it benefit us?
Martin Blaser, professor of microbiology at the New York University School of Medicine and founder of the Foundation for Bacteriology, advocate good bacteria as “the new antibiotics”. As our understanding of our microbiome’s impact on our health as both individuals and as a species grows, so does the realization that current bacteria-phobic trends must come to an end. It’s time we cultivated a friendship with our Microbiome.
What happens when the Microbiome becomes Imbalanced?
If you experience any of the following there is a good chance your Microbiome is out of balance
Constipation or diarrhea
Recurrent yeast infections
